With the Paris Couture Fashion shows only 3 days in we are already obsessed with some of the beauty looks we are seeing.
Yes we’ve had the usual flawless ‘bare-faced’ complexion with a slick of a red lip, which as you know we are big fans of here at the academy, but it’s the Chanel and Maison Margiela shows that have really got our makeup brushes twitching.
Makeup legend Tom Pecheux created a gorgeous ‘swatched-effect’ sunset eye for Karl Lagerfeld at Chanel. Washes of yellow, green, blue and red swept all the way up and over the brows daring us to break the rules and think outside the box a little when it comes to how we apply makeup.
Whilst the amazing Pat McGrath didn’t fail to disappoint for John Galliano at Maison Margiela today. Perfect dewy skin with bare lids offset with a dramatic ombre lip layered under red foil and transparent paper has got us running to the craft shop for supplies already.
As a fashion makeup school we are constantly pushing our students to think outside the box. Of course this wouldn’t be anything without a solid foundation of knowing how to perfect a classic makeup look, and deliver flawless skin every time but isn’t life that bit more colourful with just a little rule breaking?
