So once again the Cassie Lomas Makeup Academy Events team has smashed it at their one of many Red Carpet events.

Part of our extensive aftercare is ensuring that our graduates get the opportunity to represent the academy at the events we get rolling in, and last weekend we sent a select team of our amazing graduates to cover The British Soap Awards and work with not only the actors, but the behind the scenes crew and publicists to make them shine on their special night.

It’s always crowded and hectic behind the scenes at these type of events, but great fun and there is always an air of excitement about what is to come which is great to be a part of.

From their Makeup Artist, most of the celebs were looking for flawless, dewy skin which is what we here are the Academy are best at. It’s Cassie’s signature style so nobody graduates their course without being able to master the look, and you can see it shine through on the looks the team created.

Media & Fashion with Hairstyling Graduate Hayley McGroarty say’s of her time their;

“I love working at the Soap Awards, this was my 3rd year and I glammed the Hollyoaks stars Jazz Franks & Daisy Wood-Davies. Jazz had a black dress and Red shoes, so we chose a bronze eye and a bold red lip. Whilst Daisy has a blue dress so we kept her skin fresh and dewy with just a pop of blue on the bottom lash line, keeping the the lid and the lip quite neutral.”

Fashion Makeup & Hairstyling graduate Laura Gibb, says;

“The best thing about working red carpet events like the soap awards is getting to see the celebrities final looks before everyone else does and being able to make them feel confident and ready to tackle the huge press and fan attention when they walk the carpet. Working with the CLMA events team is always great, everyone is so hard working and talented, when graduating Cassie’s academy you don’t know any other way!”

Media & Fashion with Hairstyling Graduate and CLMA Tutor Emily Clarkson, says;

“Working the Soap Awards is always one of my favourite jobs to do and very close to my heart as it was my first ever red carpet event many years ago when I graduated CLMA. I love the whole process from discussing with my client what their outfit will be, designing a makeup look to suit, to doing final touch ups before they head to the carpet. This year the look I created for Cath Tyldseley from Coronation Street was focused on glowing skin with a subtle spring inspired eye which was perfect for her outfit”

Fashion Graduate Nikki Webb, says;

“Being part of the CLMA team is simply amazing, the jobs the teaching, the support and most of all the family you become part of is priceless. I was so excited to work on the Soap Awards, i’m a big fan. I had the pleasure of getting Nikki Sanderson ready, her gown was amazing so a quick consultation and we had agreed our look. The boys were just as easy, a bit of CLMA fairy dust and they were ready, my male grooming skills from my course really came in handy, which means that I could work with anyone on the night. ”
